Diane Marczak entered into enteral rest surrounded by her loving family at home on March 26, 2018.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Visitation on Tuesday, April 3rd from 4-8 pm at the Walter Johnson Funeral Home, 803 Raritan Rd., Clark.
On Wednesday, April 4th at 10:00 am, the funeral will begin at the Walter Johnson Funeral Home and process to St. Agnes Church, Clark, where a Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.

Diane was born in Poland on April 28, 1931 to Stanisław and Mary Zychowicz.

She lost both her parents by age 11, and was shipped to displaced persons camps in Siberia, Persia, India, and England during World War II.

She came to the United Stated by herself in 1951 aboard the RMS Queen Elizabeth. She was reunited with her sister after being separated for five years.

She met the love of her life, her husband Paul, in night school learning to speak English.

Diane resided in Elizabeth, and then Linden for more than 50 years.

She retired in 1993 after working as a machine operator for more than 35 years, most recently at Shering-Plough in Kenilworth.

Diane was a parishioner of St. Theresa Church in Linden, and a member of the Polish National Alliance and Linden Women's Club.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing with her husband, shopping with her sister, and cooking for her family and friends.

Diane is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 65 years, Paul Marczak; devoted children Irene Barist and her husband Douglas, and Joseph Marczak; loving grandchildren Kelly Winters and her husband Dennis, and Scott Barist and his fiancée Danielle, and cherished great-grandson Grayson Paul Winters. Also many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her dear sister Wanda Gurski and brother-in-law Joseph Gurski.

Her family will miss her deeply, but are so grateful for all the incredible memories they have together. Their favorite moments were gathered together eating her delicious food, listening to her stories, and sharing lots of laughter. She was the truly a special lady, the very best wife, mother, Babci, and Prababci. Her family feels so blessed by her immense love for them (that was equally reciprocated) and the gift that was her life.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
