Jeffrey John Gannon, 53, of Clark, entered into eternal rest on May 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Apostle Church, Clark, on Monday, May 21, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2-6 pm at Walter Johnson Funeral Home, 803 Raritan Rd., Clark.

Mr. Gannon was born in Rahway, NJ, to Virginia (nee Tillisch) and John Gannon. He grew up in Clark and graduated Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School. Jeff continued his education and attended Seton Hall University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.

Jeff was a dedicated employee of Bessemer Trust Company for 28 years. As a Senior Performance Measurement Analyst, he held himself and those around him to the highest standards of excellence and integrity.

Jeff was passionate about sports at all levels. He was at his best when coaching his daughters’ township travel soccer, softball, and basketball teams. Jeff had a flair for the finer points of the game and enjoyed instructing all of the players and teaching them the skills that they needed to be successful.

The source of Jeff’s greatest pride in life were his two daughters, Jessica and Jennifer, whom he adored more than anything else in this world. His joy upon their birth was abundant, his protective instincts voracious, and his love for them limitless. They are his greatest work, and he will rest easy knowing that he imparted in them all of the knowledge, talents, and wisdom that he possessed to make them incredibly strong young women and to give them a fighting chance in this world that we now live in.

Mr. Gannon is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Lisa (nee Cimbalista) and his cherished daughters, Jessica and Jennifer. Also deeply mourning his loss are his loving mother, Virginia Gannon; his dear beloved sisters Elaine Gannon and her husband James Solomon, and Grace Gannon and her husband Jerome Licini; and his many nephews and nieces, Dr. James P. Solomon and his wife Stephanie, John Jeffrey Solomon and his fiancé Michael Lytle, Andrew Licini, Daniel Eppes, Olivia Eppes and Emily Eppes Diaz and her husband Chachi and great nephew baby Micah. Mr. Gannon was predeceased by his father, John Gannon.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his memory to St. John the Apostle Church, 1805 Penbrook Terrace, Linden, NJ 07036.
