Obituary

Lillian Marie Taylor of Seabrook Village, Tinton Falls, NJ (formerly of Union, NJ) passed away on August 15, 2018. She was born in Port Carbon, PA on April 25, 1927, and spent her childhood between Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She graduated from East High School, Newark, NJ and went on to work in a local bank until her longtime marriage to William E. Taylor in 1948.

She was a devoted and energetic mother to Donna Taylor Paulson and Patricia Taylor, and a loving grandmother and great grandmother to Taylor Jean Gunderson (Ryan), Adler and Kesten.

Her life was one of service and socialization, whether serving as a Girl Scout Leader, a Welcome Wagon Lady, participating in several Catholic women’s organizations, or getting together with friends for a day of shopping, a game of cards, a bus trip or just a good party. Mom loved life!

In mid-life, Lillian worked as a customer service representative for the Elizabethtown Gas Company for over 20 years.

Words can’t capture the kindness and energy that were Lillian’s essence. A woman of independence, determination, faith and grace, Lillian shared her love generously with those around her. She had an inner strength that carried her through challenges and changes over the years. Her deep devotion to her faith, belief in the power of prayer, trust, plus a little nudging, sustained her, her family, her friends and the staff who helped her.

Preceded in death by William E. Taylor(husband) and a premature infant son.

The family extends thanks and appreciation to the staff at Seabrook Village who helped Mom to continue to maintain and enjoy life well past her wildest expectations.

Donations may be made to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen in lieu of flowers.
