In the words of his grandson Christopher: On this day Heaven received a remarkable man and a truly inspirational human being. Grandpa was where our sense of humor originated. The man had a joke for every occasion. I found myself enthralled by his stories and jokes during my childhood at special occasions/family gatherings. “Hey sonny, have you heard the one about the wooden horse?” Most of those in our family would be quite familiar with that one.

The feeling of loss never changes. I feel the presence of an empty void where he once was. Silence where his voice used to travel. One can only know him now by the memories we all had. Grandpa had one thing in life that he cherished more than anything in this world and that was “La Familia”. At the end of the day, family is always there. He enjoyed the company of his family and closest friends always, even until the very end. This has been a most testing time for our family. Three years in succession some of us have lost a father, a grandmother, and now a grandfather. On the other hand, some of us have experienced the loss of a brother, a mother and now a father. Through loss we have found a common thread that causes our bond to tighten more than ever. He loved his family very much and we all loved him more than he knew.

It is quite relieving knowing that he is up there with everyone: Dad, Nanny, Lamour, and all of those that have left this world and are in a much better place.

We have nothing but fond memories of Grandpa and he is truly in a better place, no more suffering, no more pain. He is at peace. Rest in eternal peace.
